Artist duo Carolin Liebl and Nikolas Schmid-Pfähler have been producing sculptural work featuring electronic and mechanical elements since 2012. Their materials range from electromagnetic coils, light sensors and alkaline baths all the way to plaster and recycled plastics. In an often humorous way, Carolin and Nikolas capture human quirks in a fragile technological form. The actions of their sculptures and installations – mostly in the form of movement – lend them a certain vitality and create a closeness with onlookers.
