Künstlerische Nachtwanderung

Zusammen mit der Künstlerin Anna-Luise Lorenz wollen wir uns im Rahmen einer gemeinsam gestalteten Nachtwanderung auf eine sinnliche Reise in die ungewisse Dunkelheit des Grüngürtels begeben, der an den Norden von Preungesheim angrenzt.

Welche Geschichten weben sich in die Umgebung, die tagsüber so vertraut erscheint, nur um nachts ihr Gesicht in eine neue Gestalt zu hüllen? Welche Gedanken, Gefühle, Fantasien und Diskussionen entlockt uns die Intimität der Nacht, besonders an jenem ersten Abend des anwachsenden Mondes? Was bedeutet es, sich in einem Terrain zu verlieren, das – von der Dunkelheit verschleiert – unerforscht, somit unbekannt, und vielleicht sogar von einer geheimnisvollen Unruhe erfüllt ist? Und welche Rolle spielt Technologie als unsere stete Wegbegleiterin in solchen Momenten?

Gemeinsam mit den Teilnehmer:innen des vorher stattfindenden Workshops werden wir mit “digitalen Wünschelruten” in die Nacht auf eine ganz besondere Wanderung gehen. Die Nachtwanderung steht allen offen, eine Anmeldung ist nicht notwendig. Minderjährige dürfen nur in Begleitung ihrer Erziehungsberechtigten teilnehmen. Bitte wetterfeste Kleidung, gutes Schuhwerk und eine Taschenlampe mitbringen. Start- und Endpunkt ist das Fliegende Künstler:innenzimmer, Gravensteiner Platz 1C, 60435 Frankfurt am Main.
Die Nachtwanderung findet auch bei leichtem Regen statt. Sollte jedoch absehbar sein, dass die Wetterumstände zu widrig sind, so werden wir am vorherigen Tag einen Alternativtermin auf der Webseite und an der Tafel des Fliegenden Künstler:innenzimmers ankündigen.

Workshop am 15.9. und 16.9.

Zur Nachtwanderung findet vorab ein zweiteiliger Workshop statt, in dem die “digitale Wünschelruten” gestalten werden, die alte Formen der Orientierung und des Enthüllens mit modernen Technologien wie GPS verbinden. Die Teilnehmer:innenzahl für den Workshop ist auf 12 Personen ab 16 Jahren begrenzt. Teil 1: Smartphone App Programmierung

• 15.9.2023, 17:00-19:30 (Einführung)
• 16.9.2023, 14:30–16:30 (Vertiefung, nach Absprache mit den Teilnehmenden)

In diesem 2-tägigen Workshop lernen die Teilnehmer:innen, wie Apps für unsere Smartphones erstellt werden, und wie wir die vielfältigen Sensoren (z.B. Orientierungssensor, Erdmagnetfeldsensor) ansprechen und benutzen können. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht notwendig, aber eine generelle Neugier für digitale Technologien ist von Vorteil. Der Workshop ist kostenlos.
Bitte beachten: Um am Workshop teilnehmen zu können, wird ein Android(!)- Handy benötigt. Bitte dieses mitbringen. Sollte kein Android-Handy zur Verfügung stehen, dann bitte bis spätestens zum 11.9.2023 eine E-Mail schreiben, sodass wir uns um ein Alternativgerät kümmern können!

Teil 2: Bau der digitalen Wünschelrute

• 16.9.2023, 17:00–20:00: Aufbauend auf dem ersten Teil geben wir anschließend unseren “digitalen Wünschelruten” eine physische Form.

Together with the artist Anna-Luise Lorenz, we want to embark on a sensual journey into the uncertain darkness of the green belt bordering the north of Preungesheim as part of a jointly designed night hike.

What stories weave themselves into the surroundings that seem so familiar during the day, only to wrap their face in a new shape at night? What thoughts, feelings, fantasies and discussions does the intimacy of the night elicit from us, especially on that first evening of the waxing moon? What does it mean to lose ourselves in a terrain that – veiled by darkness – is unexplored, thus unknown, and perhaps even filled with a mysterious restlessness? And what role does technology play as our constant companion in such moments?

Together with the participants of the preceding workshop we will go on a very special hike into the night with „digital dowsing rods“. The night hike is open to everyone, registration is not necessary. Minors may only participate if accompanied by their parent or guardian. Please bring weatherproof clothing, good shoes and a flashlight. Starting and ending point is the Fliegende Künstler:innenzimmer, Gravensteiner Platz 1C, 60435 Frankfurt am Main.
The night walk will also take place in case of light rain.The night hike will take place even in case of light rain. However, if it is foreseeable that the weather conditions are too adverse, we will announce an alternative date on the previous day on the website and on the board of the flying artist’s Room.

Workshop on 15.9. and 16.9.

For the night hike there will be a two-part workshop in advance, in which the „digital dowsing rods“ will be designed, combining ancient forms of orientation and unveiling with modern technologies such as GPS. The number of participants for the workshop is limited to 12 people aged 16 and older. Part 1: Smartphone App Programming

16.9.2023, 14:30-16:30 (in-depth, after consultation with the participants)
In this 2-day workshop, participants will learn how to create apps for our smartphones, and how we can address and use the multiple sensors (e.g., orientation sensor, geomagnetic field sensor). Previous knowledge is not necessary, but a general curiosity for digital technologies is an advantage. The workshop is free of charge.
Please note: An Android(!) cell phone is required to participate in the workshop. Please bring it with you. If you don’t have an Android phone available, please email us by 9/11/2023 at the latest so we can take care of an alternative device!

Part 2: Building the digital dowsing rod
